Answers:

Subject 1: I want to start a local Dagorhir group

1.1) How do I get permission?

Dagorhir is to be considered a sport. Like any sport, anyone is welcome to play at any place or any time without permission.
Just as you do not need permission from the National Baseball League to play a game of baseball down at the local park, you
do not need permission from any Dagorhir clubs to play
Dagorhir at your local park. Just as you can set up your own baseball league, you are welcome to set up your own Dagorhir
club. It is nice to let other groups know of your existence so they can support you and your activities.

1.2) How old do I need to be?

Each Dagorhir organization is free to set there own age limits. Most clubs use 15 or 16, but some accept people as young as
14. At national events like Ragnarok that use "National Rules" the age limit is 16. We recommend that those who start clubs be
at least 16. If you wish to incorporate the club for greater liability protection, most states require that you be at least 18 years of
age.

1.3) Who is liable if someone gets hurt?

Just as each sport league is an individual entity, so are Dagorhir clubs. Each club is liable for the activities they organize. This
means if someone gets hurt at an event you organized, you are the person who will get sued. You can reduce your liability by
incorporating the club as a non-profit corporation with in your
state. Additional protection can be added by having either personal or corporate (club) liability insurance.

1.4) What type of political structure should I use?

Most clubs in Dagorhir use one of two types political structure.

Structure 1: The club has an executive committee consisting of a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasure just as any
organization would have. There are by-laws that define the duties of these people and how the business of the organization is
run. The by-laws document is different from a game rules document which describes how the game is played.

The club is then made up of mostly autonomous units (fighting companies) who are supposed to send representatives to the
executive business meetings.

This structure is used in organizations such as Aratari, Dur-Demarion, and the Chaos Army. It tends to be favored by those
who are somewhat anti-SCA and want nothing to do with the politics of Kings, Queens, Knights, etc. The lower level of
political bickering tends to make this a more efficient organization.

Structure 2: The club is run by a King or Queen who is often selected by a tournament or war. There is often still a document
which outlines the duties of members of the court which is different from the rules of the game document.

This type of structure is designed to increase role-playing. Court is held for in-character business, while business meetings are
held for out-of-character business. Unfortunately, when players have ill feelings the lines between in-character and
out-of-character get burred and things get very political.

1.5) How do I recruit people?

a) Start with friends and friends of friends.
b) Get a voice mail line from a local voice mail provider and put schedules and directions to battle games, fighter practices, and
weapons construction workshops. It helps if this phone number can spell something catchy such as 4BATTLE, DAGORHI(R),
MOREWAR, etc. Place this phone number on every flier.
c) Post fliers at game, comic, and book stores.
d) Place announcements for "fighter practice and new person orientation" in the sports or event calendar in the local paper.
e) Post announcements to USENET bulletin boards such as mycity.general.
f) Put up a web site with schedules and directions to battle games, fighter practices, and weapons construction workshops. Put
the web site address on every flier.
g) Put on a demos at SCI-FI conventions, community fairs, game stores, any festival. Walk in local community parades.

Subject 2: Weapons construction information.

2.1) Where can I find instructions on making weapons?
