Note from Eldarin: While the following is documentation on the history of Blackmore Castle, it is the result of a plethora of
interviews and reading many an account. Please be patient with me should you think something is wrong with my reaccount of the following events, as I was not truly there.
Blackmore Castle is an intersting landmark in the Kingdom of Avalon. It is an almost complete fortified castle, with one of it's four towers destroyed. This is not amazing in itself. Of interest, is the fact that the castle floats approximatly one mile above and is secured by giant chains to the ground. Blackmore currently is anchored above what is known as the Swamps of Avalon. The Castle's foundation lies on a small amount of dirt from wherever it's origin.
Seeing as how much of the magic in the Kingdom has left, it is a very hard climb to get to Blackmore Castle. Only Zentruu and Father Mike currently reside in the castle. I have been so fortunate as to have spent a brief time with them in my search for lore. While I may not devulge all the secrets of Blackmore, for I know them not, herein lies those things I was able to glean from research or interview with the inhabitants.
Through the History of Avalon, the skies have been home to many a floating structure. There was the floating Tavern, named the "Black Squirrel", who's current resting place is in Penwyvren, where it crashed to the ground about a hand of years ago. The founder has since then built a new tavern, known as the "Golden Pheonix". Though this new tavern has it's foundation firmly on the ground.
